Thanksgiving Colonial History Word Search

Use this vocabulary puzzle alongside a carefully sourced lesson about Thanksgiving and early colonial history. Wampanoag people and English colonists both took part in the harvest gathering in 1621. The word list names people, places, travel, and farming without presenting that gathering as the whole story of their relationship. Students can find Mayflower, Plymouth, and Wampanoag before discussing what reliable sources tell us about each term. The forward search directions keep attention on reading the vocabulary. Follow the puzzle with accounts that include Wampanoag perspectives, and distinguish documented events from details added in later retellings.
